Colletts Travel hails the return of long-haul travel for luxury travellers in January

February 12, 2024

The average length of trips has increased, and so has demand for luxury all-inclusive packages, which cater well to multigenerational families and couples alike.

Colletts Travel, part of Global Travel Collection, has reported a rush to book long-haul destinations for 2024.

Whilst destinations such as Dubai, the Caribbean, the USA, Maldives, and European countries including Greece, Spain and Italy remained popular, there has been a notable shift in preferences for 2024. Due to current favourable rates, enquiries were up for other long-haul destinations such as Mexico, and countries in Asia including Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. The agency also observed heightened interest from clients for once-in-a-lifetime trips to destinations such as Japan and South Africa.

Jennifer Hartnett, Head of Tour Operations and Contracting at Colletts Collection, Colletts Travel’s in-house luxury tour operator, said, “We are seeing a trend of clients booking multiple trips at once, with a longer booking window extending into 2025. Many are keen to avail of early booking offers and secure their seasonal travel. We are now seeing more stability in booking trends, resembling traditional leisure patterns, which have been fluctuating over the past few years.”

“The average length of trips has increased, and so has demand for luxury all-inclusive packages, which cater well to multigenerational families and couples alike,” Hartnett continued. “We have noticed increased demand for private air travel, yacht sailings, and personal butler concierge services.”

Colletts Travel has taken a responsive approach to client desires for experiential and bucket list trips, by curating itineraries around major sporting events and providing access to unique experiences around the world. “Some of our advisors have been creating bespoke trips for the Grand Prix, and various trips around Italy, with a focus on set-jetting,” added Hartnett.

Colletts Travel’s flagship store in Hendon, which has been in place since its launch, has undergone a luxury refurbishment and is due to reopen this month.
