Travel Leaders Network Receives Second Facebook “Success Story” Accolade

Company twice recognized by social media giant for a successful digital marketing

 

New York, NY (July 11, 2019) — Travel Leaders Network – America’s largest retail travel agency organization – was once again recognized by Facebook as a social media success story based on an exceptionally creative and effective marketing campaign conducted on the popular platform and Instagram, which is part of its family of brands. This is the second recognition from Facebook for a Travel Leaders digital campaign. The first time the company was recognized as a Facebook Success Story was in 2018. Travel Leaders Network is the only U.S.-based retail travel agency network to ever receive the honor, a significant accomplishment out of the 63 total honorees in the travel space that Facebook has recognized as a success story.

 

Travel Leaders’ most recent campaign, which was executed November 2018 to January 2019, in partnership with Funjet Vacations, illustrated several travel destinations, such as all-inclusive resort accommodations with ocean views in Mexico and the Caribbean to attract social media users. By utilizing Facebook’s campaign budget optimization tool, which automatically distributes the project’s ad spend on the most active ad for that day, Travel Leaders Network gathered more leads at a lower cost per lead compared to earlier campaigns, according to a Facebook statement.

 

“The goal of the social media campaign was to cost-effectively connect with potential travelers to showcase the value of Funjet Vacations alongside the expertise of our travel advisors,” said Stephen McGillivray, CTC, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Travel Leaders Group. “We are honored that Facebook chose to highlight the effectiveness of this particular marketing campaign as an example of the continued value we bring to our supplier partners and travel advisors.”

 

In implementing the marketing plan, Travel Leaders Network installed the Facebook pixel on its website and chose to have leads directed back to the company, rather than have the platform automatically fill in the contact information people provided to Facebook. This combination allowed Travel Leaders Network to keep track of events that occur on the site, such as someone clicking from the ad to the site to “call an agent” or fill out an email form.

 

Using information provided by the pixel, Travel Leaders Network also built an audience of Funjet Vacations leads and followed up with them by showing them additional ads.

 

Facebook periodically highlights business success stories in various industry categories. Currently, only 65 recognitions have been given in the travel and tourism industry category.
