NEW YORK (September 22, 2025) – Brad A. Johnson, Editorial Director of OLTRE, the quarterly luxury lifestyle magazine from Internova Travel Group, has been named the 2026 Travel Photographer of the Year in the Society of American Travel Writers’ Bill Muster Photo Awards competition.
This is just the latest recognition that Johnson and the OLTRE editorial team have received from their peers in travel journalism since the magazine’s launch in 2023. With a print circulation of 100,000 affluent consumers, OLTRE is mailed to top clients of Internova’s luxury travel advisors, offering them a fresh perspective on travel.
Winners of the Bill Muster Photo Awards were announced at SATW’s annual convention in Detroit earlier this month. Johnson received the highest honor — the Gold Award — for his portfolio of 20 images from OLTRE, a collection of food and luxury travel photos from Mexico, England, Ecuador, Norway, New York, Chicago and French Polynesia.
Johnson also received the Gold Award in the Short Narrative category in SATW’s Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Awards, given for the year’s best writing. His first-person article, “Showdown at the Grand,” focused on a pair of restaurateurs behind a new chophouse in Telluride, Colorado. Part restaurant review and part overview of the après-ski scene, the article received praise from the judges for being “beautifully written and wonderfully captivating.”
“Being named Travel Photographer of the Year is a great honor for Brad Johnson and OLTRE,” said Elaine Srnka, Senior Vice President of Editorial for Internova Travel Group, one of the world’s largest travel services companies. “Brad, along with Art Director Devin Duckworth, deserve praise for producing a magazine that informs and inspires travelers with amazing photos, deeply researched articles and an eye-catching layout. I’m so proud of this recognition by our peers and for the service we provide to clients of Internova travel advisors.”
OLTRE has also been nominated for seven Folio: Eddie and Ozzie Awards, among the most prestigious journalism prizes in the United States for achievement in both editorial and design, including 2025 Editorial Team of the Year. Winners will be announced Oct. 6 at a gala in New York City.
