Largest Network of Professional Travel Advisors in North America Expands Tools to Help Members Capture Growing Family Travel Demand
NEW YORK (May 6, 2026) – Travel Leaders Network, the largest network of professional travel advisors in North America, is doubling down on one of travel’s most reliable and fastest-growing revenue drivers – family and multigenerational travel – with the launch of a new specialist certification, a new Leaders Alliance, and a client-facing digital magazine, announced at its EDGE conference this week.
While not a new category, family travel continues to be one of the most consistent and high-value segments for advisors, driven by larger groups, longer stays and higher overall spend. According to research from the Family Travel Association and NYU, 92% of parents and grandparents plan to take a family trip in the next year, with 81% expecting to spend more than they did previously.
To help members capitalize on that demand, Travel Leaders Network introduced its Certified Family Travel Specialist Program alongside CONNECTIONS, a digital magazine designed to help advisors engage clients and convert inspiration into bookings. At its launch, CONNECTIONS was sent to 500,000 customers of Travel Leaders’ member agencies.
A new Leaders Alliance focusing on family travel is currently in development.
The certification follows Travel Leaders Network’s established training model, with coursework, partner-led sessions, and assessments to ensure that the advisor has a rigorous education in their chosen specialty, not just a rubber stamp. Advisors have up to two years to complete the program.
Importantly, the training is designed to work within Travel Leaders Network’s broader ecosystem, giving advisors access to preferred supplier partners, exclusive programs and marketing tools that help translate expertise into booked revenue.
“There is no ‘average’ family trip,” said Lea Diele, Vice President of Education. “Advisors need a broad understanding of destinations, partners and traveler dynamics. This program is designed to build that expertise.”
To give all its members a fresh new way to inspire family travelers, Travel Leaders launched CONNECTIONS this spring, distributed on behalf of participating agencies and branded with their
individual agency identity. The publication features destination inspiration, planning tips and interactive content aimed at family travelers, including cruise guidance, school-break planning strategies and multigenerational trip ideas. CONNECTIONS will publish every spring.
The move comes as Travel Leaders Network continues to expand, adding 90 agencies representing $130 million in sales so far in 2026.
“Family travel is one of the few segments where advisors can simultaneously increase booking value and long-term client retention,” said Lindsay Pearlman, President of Travel Leaders Network. “These trips are more complex, higher spend and require real expertise. We are very excited to offer these new initiatives to support our top family travel sellers as well as emerging talent in the area.”
