All Aboard Travel and Angel Wings of SW Florida Team Up to Serve Those in Need

Fort Myers, Fla. (November 28, 2018) —All Aboard Travel and Angel Wings of SW Florida, Inc. have teamed up to support area homeless women through a fundraiser that will award a free week-long Caribbean cruise. Angel Wings of SW Florida is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit launched earlier this year to address the housing needs of homeless single women in Southwest Florida who do not qualify for other programs. All Aboard Travel is a premier cruise and tour package travel agency that has been based in Fort Myers for the past 30 years.

“There are homeless women in our area who are falling through the cracks,” said Dr. Helen Gierke, President of Angel Wings of SW Florida. “While there are shelters in place for women with children, those battling addiction and those fleeing domestic abuse, no shelter exists in Lee County to house women who don’t fall into one of those categories and whose life circumstances have rendered them homeless. Our aim with Angel Wings is to purchase housing and partner with local support organizations to provide these women with a safe place to live while they get back on their feet.” Gierke added, “Our fundraising initiative, which is being supported by All Aboard Travel, will help raise valuable funds to further our cause.”

Angel Wings of SW Florida, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to provide shelter and safety to single women without dependent children in Lee County who find themselves homeless and are ineligible for existing shelter programs. First, women will be provided an initial home to offer immediate shelter and safety along with referrals to appropriate services. Once employment is secured, they will transition to homes at minimal rent, enabling them to save for independent living.
