Winners demonstrated grit, commitment and selflessness during pandemic year
ALEXANDRIA, VIA (October 20, 2021) – Travel Leaders Network (TLN), the largest network of travel agencies in North America, today announced the winners of its Affiliate member awards at EDGE (Educate, Discover, Gather, Evolve), the network’s 2021 international conference and trade show. All winners are TLN Affiliate agencies chosen by the consortia’s executives as examples of agencies best embodying the attributes of their award.
Pavlus Travel & Cruise, Inc., based in Albuquerque, NM, was named the Champion of Supplier Partners. Owned by Craig Pavlus, this agency has gone above and beyond when it comes to supporting TLN’s preferred suppliers. Pavlus Travel & Cruise has not only actively promoted these suppliers but has been a tireless champion in encouraging other travel advisors to do so as well.
Brunswick, OH’s KHM Travel Group was given the Member Engagement Star Award. This award recognizes an agency that has been a prolific user of Travel Leaders Network’s vast sources of support, such as programs, tools and educational offerings. The Member Engagement Star Award winner is expected to have leveraged these programs to successfully manage their business. KHM Travel Group is owned by Rick Zimmerman.
The Peer-to-Peer Service Award winner, Cruise Holidays, located in Kansas City, MO, has generously shared their time and knowledge with their fellow TLN members, TLN management and the travel industry. Mark and Mimi Comfort, owners of Cruise Holidays, fulfill this with a variety of commitments. Mimi holds a Board seat on the Family Bonds Foundation and moderated the 2021 TLN International Women’s Day Panel.
Also known as the “MacGyver Award,” the Resourceful Response to 2020 Challenges winner has adapted to the numerous challenges COVID-19 brought to the travel industry. This agency worked hard to diversify their revenue sources, maintain excellent customer service and figure out innovative ways to reduce their business risk. The award was given to Cruises & Tours, Unlimited in Jacksonville, FL, owned by Steve Muraca.
The 2021 President’s Award winner embodies each of the award attributes, in addition to showing sales success and being a leading member of Travel Leaders Network. World Travel Holdings, Inc. in Wilmington, MA is the year’s honoree.
The top award, the Pinnacle Award, is given to the largest agency in the Affiliate network. This year, the award goes to Vacations to Go, based in Houston, TX. Owned by Emerson Hankamer, Vacations to Go exemplifies all the above attributes and has performed as the largest member in 2021.
