Internova Travel Group Shows Sustainability Is Driving Sales in the Travel Industry

April 14, 2026

One of the most powerful things we can do is give our advisors the tools and firsthand experiences they need to speak confidently about sustainability. At the same time, we’re creating new opportunities for our travel partners to showcase their sustainability efforts to a global network of more than 100,000 advisors who influence where and how their clients travel.

Advisor education, partner relationships and immersive experiences position sustainability as a new sales driver

NEW YORK (April 14, 2026) – Internova Travel Group, one of the world’s largest travel services companies, is demonstrating that sustainability is more than a brand value, it is becoming a meaningful driver of travel sales.

Through its Green Circle eco-luxe sustainability initiative, the company is equipping travel advisors with the knowledge and experiences needed to confidently sell sustainability-minded travel. The strategy is already translating into stronger advisor engagement and measurable commercial momentum.

“One of the most powerful things we can do is give our advisors the tools and firsthand experiences they need to speak confidently about sustainability,” said J.D. O’Hara, CEO of Internova Travel Group. “At the same time, we’re creating new opportunities for our travel partners to showcase their sustainability efforts to a global network of more than 100,000 advisors who influence where and how their clients travel.”

One example: advisors generated more than $1 million in sales following Internova’s first sustainability-focused educational trip with Micato Safaris last year. The result reflects a broader shift in the industry — when advisors understand how sustainability enhances the travel experience, they are better positioned to differentiate their expertise and convert interest into bookings.

“The Sustainability Trip experience was crucial,” said one participating advisor. “Not only can I discuss the destination, but I can confidently explain why Micato is simply the best.”

Over the past several years, Internova has developed a scalable approach designed to embed sustainability across its global advisor network while creating new opportunities for supplier partners.

The company maintained its carbon neutrality commitment for employee business travel in 2025 and expanded its industry leadership through membership in the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. Internova also continued investing in climate impact projects spanning reforestation, renewable energy, blue and teal carbon and emerging environmental technologies through its partnership with Sustainable Travel International.

Advisor education remains a core pillar of the strategy. In 2025, Internova launched Sustainable Travel Knowledge Learning Module 1, providing advisors with a framework for understanding tourism’s impact across climate, waste, wildlife and community engagement. The program helps advisors communicate the value of responsible travel to both clients and supplier partners.

Internova also brought sustainability to life through global Earth Day activities in New York, Beverly Hills, London and Mexico City, bringing advisors together with partner representatives from Hyatt Hotels Corporation for education, collaboration and hands-on experiences.

Looking ahead to 2026, Internova plans to expand the Green Circle sustainability strategy with additional education programs, partnerships and impact initiatives.

The company will continue its carbon neutrality commitment and deepen its support for global preservation efforts, including a donation to the UNESCO World Heritage Programme to help protect culturally and environmentally significant destinations.

Advisor capability will remain a priority with the launch of Sustainable Travel Knowledge Learning Module 2, designed to help advisors translate sustainability insights into targeted client engagement and stronger sales strategies.

Experiential learning will also expand through the next Green Circle–Global Travel Collection Educational Trip, delivered with partners Atlas Ocean Voyages, Scandinavian Airlines and NORDIC Star. Selected advisors will participate in an Arctic polar expedition to gain firsthand insight into sustainable travel practices across expedition cruising, aviation and destination stewardship.

With a global network of advisors, Internova is positioning sustainability not only as a responsibility but as a competitive advantage for the travel industry. By turning sustainability into a practical sales capability and a platform for partner collaboration, the company is helping reshape how travel brands connect purpose with performance.

The initiative also creates new opportunities for travel partners to collaborate with Internova’s advisor community while attracting experienced travel professionals interested in affiliating with one of the company’s leading advisor brands, including Global Travel Collection, In The Know Experiences, Nexion Travel Group and Travel Leaders Network.
