Internova Travel Group’s OLTRE Magazine Takes Home the Gold in Journalism Competitions

July 11, 2024

I am so proud of Brad Johnson and the OLTRE team for the amazing job they’ve done in creating this gorgeous and inspiring magazine for our luxury travel advisors and clients.

Quarterly publication for luxury travelers, which launched in 2023, is recognized
by four organizations

NEW YORK (July 11, 2024) – Just one year after its debut OLTRE, the luxury lifestyle travel
magazine from Internova Travel Group, is now an award-winning publication, receiving 2024 awards
from four journalism organizations for its stories and photos.

The quarterly magazine and its editorial director, Brad A. Johnson, have been recognized for
excellence in travel writing, food and cultural criticism, restaurant reviews and photography by the
Western Chapter of the Society of American Travel Writers, the Southern California Journalism
Awards, the Orange County, California, Press Club and the Society for Features Journalism. Food
and travel writing has been Johnson’s personal niche for decades, and he writes and photographs a
culinary travel story in every issue of OLTRE.

“I am so proud of Brad Johnson and the OLTRE team for the amazing job they’ve done in creating
this gorgeous and inspiring magazine for our luxury travel advisors and clients,” said Elaine Srnka,
Senior Vice President of Content for Internova Travel Group, one of the world’s largest travel
services companies. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see their hard work recognized by some of the top
professional journalism organizations in the country, and only a year after we launched OLTRE.”

OLTRE received the most Gold Awards, and more awards altogether, of any publication in the
Western Chapter of the Society of American Travel Writers competition, judged by faculty from the
prestigious University of Missouri School of Journalism:

  • Gold Award for Short Feature: “Squid Game”, OLTRE
  • Gold Award for Illustrated Story: “Squid Game”, OLTRE
  • Bronze Award for Dining, Food & Beverage: “One Day in Bangkok”, OLTRE

In the 66th annual Southern California Journalism Awards, presented by the Los Angeles Press Club,
Johnson won first place for Best Criticism of Food/Culture for his food and hotel reviews in OLTRE.
He was also a Print Journalist of the Year finalist (circulation over 50,000).

From the Orange County Press Club, the second-largest regional press organization in California,
Johnson received first place and third place awards for Best Restaurant Review for “Squid Game”
and “One Day in Bangkok” respectively.

On the national stage, OLTRE came in third place for Best Features Project for “The OLTRE Guide
to Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula” in the Society for Features Journalism’s Excellence-in-Features
Journalism Awards. Johnson also took second place for Best Arts & Culture Criticism Portfolio,
OLTRE.

With a print circulation of 100,000 affluent consumers, OLTRE is mailed to top clients of Internova’s
luxury travel advisors, offering them a fresh perspective on travel and providing them with ideas for their next trip. Clients interested in receiving a subscription should connect with their advisor. In
addition to an exclusive print circulation, the magazine is available digitally at OLTRE.
