More Than 77% Of TL Network Canada Members Say 2017 Bookings Are Higher Than or Equal To Last Year

Over 82% Canadian travel agents state that travel spending will be the same or higher among clientele

 

Toronto, Canada (February 2, 2017) – Today, TL Network Canada (TLNetwork.ca) – part of the travel industry’s largest travel agency organization – provided insights into its booking trends for 2017, and announced that more than 77% of agents surveyed state overall bookings are equal to or higher than the same time last year. Nearly 82% of travel agents surveyed report year-over-year cruise bookings are higher than or on par with last year, and 82.2% of those surveyed are optimistic about the coming year, while another 14% are neither optimistic nor pessimistic. Additionally, the overall top destinations being booked are Mexico East, Las Vegas, Nevada; Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica. These results are based on survey data from more than 100 TL Network Canada Members.

 

“We are thrilled to say we are seeing strong bookings for the start of 2017 and more than 82% of our TL Network Canada Members say that their clients will spend the same or more this year on travel,” said TL Network’s Vice President Christine James, who has long overseen the organization’s operations in Canada since it was first known as Vacation.com. “So based on that, it is little surprise that over 82% of our agents are optimistic that the year will be a strong one for their business. The goal of our agents is always to match the best vacation options to each client and do so within their budgetary needs. The trends identified by TL Network Canada Members, in addition to the top destinations being booked, include over 81% stating their cruise booking are higher than or equal to this time last year (34.6% say bookings are “higher” and 46.9% state bookings are on par). Specifically looking at Mediterranean cruises, 79.3% of TL Network Canada agents indicate their bookings are equal to or higher than last year Also, 75% of survey participants state their European river cruise bookings are increasing or remaining the same compared to their bookings at this time one year ago.
