De la Cruz brings 30 years of travel industry experience to her new role
New York, NY (January 15, 2018) – Today, Travel Leaders Group announced the appointment of Jennifer de la Cruz as Vice President of Public Relations and Communications, effective February 5. De la Cruz, who will be based in the Travel Leaders Group Alexandria, VA office, will step down from her role as Vice President of Corporate Communications at Carnival Cruise Line on January 26. At Travel Leaders Group, de la Cruz will report to Dina Ruden, Senior Vice President of Public Relations and Communications and will oversee internal and external communications for various brands.
“Jennifer is a highly seasoned public relations professional with 30 years of experience in the travel industry, with senior leadership experience in internal and external communications, and strong ties with both the trade and consumer news media,” said Stephen McGillivray, CTC, Chief Marketing Officer for Travel Leaders Group. “We are thrilled Jennifer will be joining Travel Leaders Group. “She will, no doubt, help us blaze new trails as we work to gain additional publicity for our brands and the more than 40,000 travel agent experts who put their faith in us every day.”
Previously at Carnival, de la Cruz served as Vice President of Public Relations, leading product announcements, new ship launches, celebrity partnership PR and other product-related news. She has also held dual roles supporting Carnival Corporation & plc, the publicly-traded parent company of Carnival Cruise Line, with a focus on financial communications and media relations. Earlier in her career, she worked in public relations for Carnival Air Lines and the Crystal Palace Resort & Casino in Nassau, Bahamas. She has served on both the public affairs and marketing committees of CLIA and in 2017 was honored by the Florida Diversity Council with a “Most Powerful Woman” award. De la Cruz has a bachelor’s of science degree in public relations with a minor in journalism from Florida State University.
De la Cruz will oversee internal and external communications and directly supervise other members of the PR team, including Sheree Curry, Berit Griffin and Hillary Kline.
