The trip was especially meaningful because it marks two decades of celebrating travel advisors who have reached the pinnacle of our company. I am so proud of their commitment to Travel Leaders, their business success and of the dedication they bring to serving their clients.

Elite group of travel advisors enjoyed voyage aboard Avalon Waterways’ Avalon Tapestry II

ALEXANDRIA, VA (November 10, 2022) – Travel Leaders Network recognized and celebrated its 2022 top-performing Golden Circle travel advisors during a picturesque cruise along the Seine River from Paris to Normandy aboard Avalon Waterways’ Avalon Tapestry II.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Golden Circle, which recognizes a small group of Associate agencies for their outstanding support of supplier partners and of the programs and services of Travel Leaders Network. Approximately 29 invited participants went on the trip from October 18-25.

“Golden Circle members represent our most successful and devoted travel professionals,” said Roger Block, President of Travel Leaders Network. “I am honored to spend time with them each year, exploring a new destination and giving them the opportunity to network with colleagues, our headquarters team and a select group of our key partners.”

“This year’s Golden Circle voyage on Avalon Waterways’ Avalon Tapestry II was a magnificent journey through one of the most beautiful and historic regions of France,” Block added. “The trip was especially meaningful because it marks two decades of celebrating travel advisors who have reached the pinnacle of our company. I am so proud of their commitment to Travel Leaders, their business success and of the dedication they bring to serving their clients.”

Destinations selected for Golden Circle adventures are exciting spots around the world, paired with a preferred partner. A new itinerary is chosen every year, so that participants can explore different options as well as different partners.

In addition to the main sponsor, Avalon Waterways, this year’s onboard sponsors were AIG Travel Guard, Delta Air Lines, Enterprise Holdings, Norwegian Cruise Line, Pleasant Holidays and Travelport.

Passengers on the eight-day cruise could choose from a number of excursions, including visits to the gardens at Giverny that inspired Claude Monet; the World War II memorials and landing beaches of Normandy; the ancient city of Rouen; and Auvers-sur-Oise, where Vincent van Gogh spent his final months. There were also opportunities for biking and walking tours, a painting workshop and free time to explore Paris at the end of the trip.

Golden Circle attendees were also treated to several special exclusive experiences, including a gala affair at the Musée de Beaux-Arts de Rouen. The group had the galleries to themselves for a private dinner and art viewing. The museum was founded by Napoléon Bonaparte and houses art from great European masters including Monet and Caravaggio. At the cemetery near the beaches of Normandy, where the Allied Forces landed for D-Day in WWII, Avalon Waterways arranged a special ceremony for the group, playing the Star-Spangled Banner and Taps. During the ceremony, Block laid a flower arrangement at the foot of one of the monuments to the fallen.

The Avalon Tapestry II has 52 suites and 12 staterooms, panoramic windows that transform the living spaces into river cruising’s only open-air balcony, a fitness center, a spacious deck and chef-prepared meals of regional cuisine using the freshest local ingredients.
